Baldwin Hills Season 3

One of my favorite shows, Baldwin Hills is back and better than ever. I'm excited for the new cast, the new story line and the new coins these young, black people are going to make off this show. The show kicked off on Tuesday with the normal Baldwin Hills drama; Gerren still sits ovah everyone, Staci is pregnant kind of vacant this season and Moriah is still trying to prove he's the G of the group, which isn't ture by the way. Above all, Gerren still reigns as my favorite character but, Etienne is second for the fact he's diverse in comparison to the other guys on the show. Side note: I don't know if you recall Etienne being on Super Sweet 16, I didn't know either until a friend told me. Well on that note, make sure you tune in every Tuesday at 10pm to BET for the new season of Baldwin Hills.

The Diversity Of Our Campus

So, we have this amazing art gallery on our campus. I attend UNC-Greensboro by the way, for the out of townees. Well from time to time we feature art from up and coming artist, established artist or just people from the community. Well The Intellect had told me of this new collection so I went to check it out for myself. When I went into the art gallery I was amazed. It's everything from the three dimensional aspects to the bold colors that have me infatuated with this artwork. This print installation was created by artist, Ryan O' Malley. We didn't have the opportunity to talk to him because he wasn't there when I viewed the work but, I did fill out a form praising him on his work and I sent contact information for him. So, hopefully he'll hit me up and I can get more information on the reason for the work along with how long it took and things of that sort. Well until then I've put the pictures for you to get into. From the ringlet styled hair to the couture gowns; this collection is breath taking. I love how Zac took it back to the days of Old Hollywood. Back when clothes were of substance. Almost every piece has something that sets it apart from it's counterpart. I like the mixing of pattern, print and color. These palettes were bold yet, subtle but, still attention grabbing. If this is Zac Posen's Pre Fall Collection, I'm beyond excited.

Recently, pictures have been surfacing of The New Louis Vuitton "Soccer" monogram Bag. I like this bag; it gives me Soccer Mom on the move teas. Look who popped up at The Elie Saab show in Paris recently; It'd be none other than Mr West, Mr Fresh. What was the set giving with this black and white suit, black bow-tie and black satin cummerbund? He always gives the girls what they want and need. He knows what he's doing! I'm also living ovah the fact Kanye was seated on a row with Dita Von Teese and Mischa Barton. It's his life, your entertainment!

Giving Disturbia TEAS On The Regular

Rihanna performed last night at VH1's Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash and I got a little something from the pictures. Rihanna's set included songs "Disturbia," "Breakin Dishes" and latest hit "Rehab." I saw Rihanna once with Kanye's GITD tour and she was actually fluid. So from the pictures and the short clip of her performance it appeared she came ready to give the crowd what they wanted. I'm not mad, I just wish she'd get a relaxer so that side piece would stay down. Above all, the red bottom was on deck so she has my approval.

Say It Aint So Danity Kane, Say It Aint So

When "Making the Band" returns on February 12, fans already know two former members will be missing: Aubrey O'Day and D. Woods, who were dismissed from the group by Diddy last season. But they'll probably be surprised that Shannon Bex isn't there either, which apparently means the end of the band.


"As of right now, [Danity Kane doesn't exist]," Dawn Richard told MTV News on Wednesday (January 28). "It's devastating for me."

"You'll see me and Drea [Aundrea Fimbres] try and pick up the pieces on our own [on this season's show] — pieces that we didn't even make," she continued. "We didn't even break it and we're trying to sweep it up ourselves. Puff invited all the girls to come back on this season and they chose not to. Only two of us showed up. That's fine if that's the choice.

It changes [our situation] completely," she said. "We have fans out there who love Danity Kane. We love Danity Kane. It's hard. We're sitting here trying to make sense of it now. It's hard. We're put in this position that we didn't ask to be in and we're being told to fix it."

Richard said that Bex apparently made the decision not to show up for the season on her own.

"I don't know why [Bex left]. I think she's just happy. I don't want to even try to answer it 'cause that's not fair to her. I haven't [spoken to her] but I heard she's doing well with her husband and she got a house. I love her, but I don't know."

Bex was coy about the issue in an interview published earlier this week.

Richard admitted that she was as surprised as anyone that she and Drea were the only members on the set. "We are the only two that showed up," she said. "The thing about it ... I thought we were all going to come back and talk, or maybe if Aubrey didn't come back, 'cause I don't know how Puff was feeling about that, if the four of us got together. I didn't know what to expect. I just know I got off the plane and found out I was the only one there and Drea came the next day."

And although Fimbres and Richard were both present for the taping of the show, it seems that Richard spent a lot of her time hanging out with fellow "MTB" castmates Day 26 trying to make the best of the situation.

"I was there every day, on my own. Sometimes Drea was there, sometimes she wasn't, 'cause she had to go fix some stuff at home," she said. "So it was me and six guys, which is great 'cause I'm a guy girl! It was fun. [But] it was very hard not knowing what the next step was going to be."

One thing that Richard is certain of is her disbelief at everything that's happened with Danity Kane in the last few months, which not only included the two dismissals but also news about Aubrey O'Day's sexuality and her forthcoming Playboy spread.

"I'm still surprised at it all. I'm still trying to recover from the first fire," she said. "So I'm still confused. I still don't know. I'm just being so honest. I have no idea."

A spokesperson for Diddy and Danity Kane's rep at Atlantic Records had no comment.

Jazmine Sullivan - Lions Tigers & Bears Official Video

This video is for my girl Monique Nicole - Stand up DC, who lives for Jazmine Sullivan. We were talking tonight about Jazmine's standing in the game and Monique put up a strong argument for the relevance of Jazzy. She spoke of the substance of Jazmine's lyrics, her unique style and her ability to appeal to young girl (take out the bust your windows part). And after talking to Monique, I realized how innovative Jazmine is. She's pulling elements from old soul put tweaking it and giving it a new age twist, which is something we have not seen in awhile. Kudos to Jazmine for stepping outside the box. Sorry for all the readers of You Got Tea who weren't able to sip as much as they may have wanted this past week. We were having a problem with Internet explorer in collaboration with site meter which measures the amount of people who visit our blog. After fixing some kinks, editing our layout (which I hope you like), along with some other things we're back and ready to give you your daily glass of media tea. I appreciate everyone that asked about the blog and when it was going to be back up and running. It really goes to show where our readers stand. Big up to one of our top readers D'Jella from WQMG. I went into the station the other day to D'Jella saying "Jaylen, what's wrong with thte site? It's been down today and I can't go without my daily tea." With that said, I knew we had to work faster to get the site back up and running. I told you we'd have it back up and running just for you didn't I D? :). Obsessed Movie Cover

On April 24 Beyonce will star alongside Idris Elba of "Daddy's Little Girls" fame in "Obsessed". The movie which co-stars Ali Larter of "Heroes" fame plays a temp who becomes obsessed with Elba's character. The movie is being tauted as the new millennium version of "Fatal Attraction". While the plot isn't exactly original. I'm excited for this movie, maybe Beyonce can step out as a real actress with this role.

Once member of Pretty Ricky, Pleasure P has released his second video "Boyfriend #2," off his yet released, new album "The Introduction of Marcus Cooper." I'm excited for Pleasure, I enjoyed his first single "I Did You Wrong," along with an array of other underground songs like "Rock bottom" and "Encore." Pleasure has a soulful voice that I could see taking him to new heights in the R&B game. It's been awhile since we've had an artist come out without a gimmick such as dancing or a catchy hook; So I'm excited to see where Pleasure goes with this career move. With Hope For A Career

Kelly Rowland says she will always be a part of Beyonce's family, but she no longer will be managed by the superstar's father.

Rowland and Matthew Knowles announced Wednesday that he is bowing out as her manager. He's guided her career since she was kid, when he put her in Destiny's Child along with Beyonce. He even helped raise her.

Both Rowland and Knowles, who still manages daughter Beyonce, called the split amicable. Both say they will always be family.

Rowland has sold millions of records as part of Destiny's Child, but her solo career hasn't matched that success.

Rowland, who turns 27 next month, did not say who her new manager will be.

I hope this is a split for the best. I know Matthew can push his daughter's career over everyone else but, you were a part of a mega pop group. You can go over to Britain and get brand new if you want Kelly. When that DC3 tour starts back up and Matthew says "Kelly who?" It's going to be no shade from the Knowles camp. I look forward to seeing what happens as the rest of this unfolds. Good luck to Kelly and all her future endeavors.

Talk About Giving Back To The Community

I was checking out my boy Aj Supreme's blog when I came across this interesting tidbit of news about rapper T.I. Well at a recent Las Vegas show, T.I. was performing on stage when he proceeded during the middle of his performance to take off his shirt, put it into his pants, wipe his balls and then give it to a female fan in the audience. Not only is this immoral but, it's down right nasty. Why would you want a shirt with a rappers ball juice on it? I'm not sure if I don't understand this because I'm not a women or because I'm not nasty. My other problem is the fact T.I. has been talking about reforming his life hence, his new BET show and then something like this happens. I'm confused TIP; You got to do better. You have children! How would you feel if Tiny came home and told you King had taken his Gucci shirt, wiped it across his balls then headed it to his teacher wih the speech "You can have whatever you like," attached to it. You'd be mad TIP, you know you would. So with that said, you know you need to quit!

Kris Van Assche and his 2009 Collection of Footwear is giving me exactly what I want. I love how he pulls elements from outside sources such as shapes and environments. When you pull from elements like that it not only shows your talent but, your love of the craft and the art. I could see this off the wall shoes paired with something very dressy like a cropped, dress pant or something like a paper denim jean and a blazer. I see it, if you don't it's called mixing and matching; GET IN!

Road Trip With Mike & Av

On Saturday, some friends and I decided to hit up South point mall in Durham, NC. South point is one of the nicer mall in N.C. housing a Nordstrom, J.Crew, the ever so popular Urban Outfitters along with an array of other select retailers. Mike, Avery and I enjoyed casual conversation, great shopping and some every so tasty Cheesecake Factory. Below, I've included pictures from our adventure!!

That told me right there, she wasn’t right for the part and not to mention, Naturi has got to be one of THE worst actresses I’ve ever seen and I can’t believe they chose her. I really can’t!"

The "Barack" Berry

The Presidential cell phone has officially arrived and is appropriately nicknamed the “Barack-Berry,” but, in fact, President Obama’s new smartphone is a $3,350 device that has all the bells and whistles of a CIA secure computer server.

The president has fought the National Security Agency to keep his BlackBerry phone, saying they would have to “pry it out of my hands.” He protested that a mobile device would help him stay in touch with the real world.

However, e-mail has long been treated with suspicion by the Secret Service because of fears it could be hacked into by foreign espionage agencies, or that sensitive information could reach the public.

To prevent hacking, the NSA has created a spy-proof BlackBerry alternative called Sectera Edge. The cell phone is reportedly capable of encrypting top secret voice conversations and handling classified documents.

Bow Wow & The Father Rumors

I found this video of Bow at an Atlanta radio station finally squashing the rumors of him being Superhead's baby daddy. What I find so funny is the fact he smashed MediaTakeOut.com calling it MediaFAKEout.com and calling it the worst blog in the world. He compared it to the tabloid's you see in the grocery store in the check out line. Now, that's some morning KI-KI.

60 Minutes With Wintour

According to NYMag there has been talk of a 60 minutes special with Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour. There has been speculation due to the fact Wintour had camera's following her around at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund awards dinner in November, and at the panel discussion she partook in last month with David Remnick and Graydon Carter. I'm interested in the truth to this speculation. It'd be great to get some insight on what makes Anna tick. Maybe the special would go deeper than VOGUE and allow us to actually see a softer side of The Wintour. I know there has to be more than the shades and designer labels. We posted on the collaboration between Vivienne Westwood and Pamela Anderson for her Spring/Summer 2009 Ad and finally some press shots have been released. I didn't get much from the photos; I know they are suppose to showcase Pam and Viv having a good time but, all i get is trailer park trash teas. But, maybe that's just me. I was attracted to these pieces from D&G's Collection mainly because of the velvet jackets. They take me back to the days of old money. Back when men would dress up, meet with old friends, smoke cigars and shoot the breeze. They'd talk of ways to take over the world all the while not breaking a sweat or putting a wrinkle in their velvet. I can't wait to me and my boys are 45, talking about our accomplishments and plans for the future.

New Season Of Making The Band

You Got Tea brings you the trailer for the new season of MTB4 kicking off on February 5th, The show will pick up where the last season left off letting you know the future of Danity Kane, new plans for Day 26 and Donnie along with Diddy's normal antics. I can't stunt, I'm excited for this season. Diddy is definitely going to puff it up for ratings, So I'm ready to get my life all the while enjoying this staged show. Nonetheless, check the show out on Feb 5th at 9pm when it premieres.

I'm Giving You Something To WERK With

Here's some of my favorite fits from The 2009 Fall Dsquared2 Show, I picked 5 pieces from the runway that give me exactly what I want, Below each picture I've included commentary on why I like the particular outfit,Get into my fit!
It's nothing like when you mix black and brown. I love the contrast of brown against black. I also love the bold line of these black pants. I'm infatuated you could say.
I'm obsessed with layering, What Dsquared did by layering the cropped jacket with the leather vest was genius. I'm also living off the rolled up pant with the patent leather shoe. I like how this fit pushes the boundary of casual and chic. I could see this fit for a walk downtown one night or even a casual outing with friends.
I've noticed the Khaki pant is back on the scene. Alot of people sleep on the khaki, it's such a versatile pant. You can dress it up, down or play with the lines of both. I've recently pulled back out my khaki's and I've began to play with them. Take it from me; the KHAKI pant is back. You got it here first.
Everyone needs at least one suit; It'll come in handy when your attending a black tie event, a scholarship banquet or just when you want to look nice for a random event. The thing I like so much about this suit is the cut and fit. Everyone has that one suit your parents bought that has the baggy fit but, times have changed. It's all about the fit and cut now.
What I like about this particular piece is how it's simple yet bold. I live for the detailing of the sleeves along with the fit of the jean. I like the light patent detailing on the shoes which sets off the color of the jeans. I could see this being worn casually out with friends or dressed up with a pea coat.

They've Got A Piece Of The Prez

Somebody is already making coins off our new president, Barack Obama. It was discovered that someone actually sold a Chrysler 300 once owned by Barack on Ebay for $271,300.00 The 300 only had 20,000 miles on it and contains the title with Barack's name on it from where he owned it. I don't know if I would have paid that much for a Chrysler 300. Granted it was owned by Barack Obama but, it's not like you have some signficant piece of history. Ride Big Or Not At All

The New Bently Continental GTC is giving me exactly what I want; Class, Sosphication & You can't forget that umph factor. I've always been a fan of Bently. They know how to walk the line between class and sosphication quite well which is essential in a car you plan on having for awhile. Now some people say driving a Bentley gives you stunt queen teas but, I don't see it. If you've worked hard to accomplish buying a car of such great caliber, why not show it off? If someone can't take you and your new car, that's their problem, not yours. With that said, The coupe hits stores next year and will include a price tag of between $179,200 - $203,600; That means start stacking those coins. By the time your 35 you can have one. Like Hill Harper said in Letters to a young brother: "If you can't afford to pay the car off in full, you don't need it."

This semester is going to be hard; not only because I have 4 classes in my major but, because it's the spring semester which is when it's hardest for me to concentrate. My mind tends to wander outside to the pretty trees, sunshine and variety of things I could be doing outdoors instead of indoors. With that said, I've included some pictures of various things from my spring survival kit. This kit will not only occupy your time but keep your attendance up in class for the mere fact that you know when your in class you'll have alternatives for the days of those long, boring lectures. Feast!
The You Got Tea cards keep me focused on my main goal: Success. When I begin to let my mind wander, I have to look at the overall picture that school = my career which is my dream. You Got Tea is only the beginning. As we've stated, It's A Movement! Details Coming Soon...
Now, everyone knows the Ipod is a must. Now you may have a teacher who's a stickler for Ipods and electrical devices but, if your teacher is more laid back it's nothing wrong with playing the beats on low. I know when I'm feeling down, it's nothing like some Jay Karan to pick me back up. Get into what's playing on my ipod screen!
Mogul On Deck, Now it's not the most technically savvy phone or hottest phone on the market but, it's gets done what it needs. Allowing me the ability to check my email anytime, text the Intellect with new TEA at any minute and just the ability to fake an emergency if the education overload is too much. I'm just joking by the way. But, nonetheless a phone preferably a PDA is a necessity for any connoisseur on the move.
Now, It's always great to keep some reading material by. Books are great conversation starters, leisure activities and a great way to enhance your vocabulary and vernacular. Take it from personal experience.
Last, but certaintly not least is my planner. I feel like the best way to keep yourself organized is by writing down events, time, test(s) and anything else important in your life. It allows you to have everything written down that is a priority in your life. By adding strucutre to your life, you add consistency which is always great.

These are just some pointers for things to incorporate into your spring survial kit. i don't recommend using any of these things in class if your teacher objects but, shit teachers have to understand learning can be boring at times too.

Not that it's a bad thing, Halle is one of the baddest. It's nothing wrong with digging in the archives, taking what you can find and re vamping it along with your career. Rihanna has made a hobby of that right? Any who, I just want you to take the time to actually get into how much she resembles the early Halle in this picture. I'm amazed at how beautiful Rihanna is opposite Halle. Everyone knows' Halle has sat for years but, alongside Rihanna she's kind of bland. Maybe, it's the glow of Rihanna or those luxurious green eyes. I just can't seem to pin point it. I need your help.

I don't know what the set give for this new hair do! It gives me fresh taper on the side but, with I need a shape up in the back and front. I'm just confused at the angle he was going at. Maybe he's doing, rugged hair, tailored attire. That's always a nice contrast. Nonetheless, He's Kanye and people are going to admire him for his outlandish clothes, hair and trends.

I don't know if it's her slicked back mane, petite frame or OVAH personality that attracts me to her. But, I live for Vicky B. she just has this regal swag in her blood that many US women lack. She can walk down Rodeo drive, pay everyone in sight and still be featured in the latest celebrity gossip magazine. She just has this umph about her that makes us all say "I see you." And it can't hurt when you have David Beckham, one of the world's most sought out men on your arm either. You ask me what the B in Beckham stands for and I'll say BAD!

Confronting Ignorance pt 1

Waking up this morning and coming to work felt the same as it always did, I was tired and did not want to be here. But as I walked through the doors of my government office and saw maintenance replacing the picture of former President Bush with President Barack Obama I felt rejuvenated. I know that today and all the days that follow will bring new beginnings. As I walk around the office talking to co-workers who, although are all older than me since I am the youngest person in the office, share in the same excitement and renewed spirit that I feel. But like in all things new, there will be those who will try to resist this change and who will try to hinder or dampen the spirits of us all. So I ask this question to everyone reading this: How do we confront ignorance in this new age of President Barack Obama?

Yesterday when I was watching the Swearing-In ceremony, I felt a sense of pride and hope that I had never felt before in my life. Not only was a black man being ushered into the highest office in this country, but he had the love and support of a "real" black family. The women to his left holding the Bible that he took his oath on was not some token trophy wife, but a woman who had worked hard to overcome obstacles and received the best education that this country had to offer. Moreover, standing right in front of him as he took this oath were his two adorable daughters; young women who will never know what it means to not have a strong black man in their life, and with the world at their feet they have two strong parents who know how to bring them back to reality. This picture has inspired me beyond belief, but again I have to ask: How do we confront ignorance?

At the same time I was witnessing this historic event, I was sitting in my apartment with my two roommates, both of whom are white but are split politically. Although in my opinion their race or political affiliation did not enter into my mind on this day, a comment made by the Republican roommate did. While watching President Obama get sworn in, she made the comment "what if when he says the word execute, someone just EXECUTED him?" At that moment my mind was so into what was happening in D.C. that her words did not register and I quickly dismissed them. But a whole 24 hours later, her words have hit my like a ton of bricks.

Now I am left thinking: "How could someone say such a thing? How should I handle this situation, now that it has clearly affected me? What should be the response we all take when faced with something like this?"

Now that Barack Obama is our president, my generation will face racial challenges that we have never faced before. How will you react when you experience blatant racism or insensitivity in your face? How will you act when people start showing their true character, and political correctness is pushed to the side?

These are my questions. My thoughts will follow tomorrow.

I was talking to a colleague at work today and we were discussing the progression of Diddy and his many entities. He's done everything from music, movies, fashion and his ever so popular fragrance line. That brings me to the point at hand. I know everyone has seen Diddy's new commercial for his "I Am King" fragrance. Well you may have also heard that Diddy is interested in playing James Bond in the new Bond movie. If casted, Diddy would be the first, ever black James Bond. Well the commercial that is Diddy's new fragrance commercial also dubbed as his audition tape for James Bond. The $750,000 commercial shows a action figure-esc Diddy frolicking on yachts and beaches that resembles a scene from a James Bond movie. I find it interesting that Diddy would spend that much on an audition tape. But, the very interesting part is that he was smart enough to recycle the tape and use it as his commercial two. It makes me think of that old saying my mom would always say: "Killing two birds with one stone." Keep up the good work Diddy! If you can figure out ways to cut the dollar in this recession, I'm all for it. On that note...

I'm Back Like Jordan With The 2-3

I'm back people, I'm back. After a much needed vacation and hiatus from work & school; The Fashion Connoisseur is back and better than ever. This past weekend I was in Atlanta for The MLK weekend. I've never been a big fan of The Dirty South but, some friends promised me if I came through that I'd have a good time. As promised; I had a really, really good time. While in Atlanta; I shopped, enjoyed good convo with good people, met some great contacts and did what I went down there the most for, RELAX! The bad part is that I didn't take that many pictures, some things are better left not photographed. Just picture me in the corner of a light lounge chillen out with FAB people, you don't need a picture for that.

On another note, today is the first day of school for The Intellect and I. I'm just not ready to get back into the swing of things. That's the downfall of a vacation; Adjusting back to the real world. But, I have to look at the big picture, My degree = My Career which in return equals my dreams. I just hope I have teachers that understand the complexity of being a student and connoissuer. I want a teacher who understands that the classroom experience isn't anything compared to the real world experience. The type of teacher who just cancels class for the hell of it. In my dreams right?

Earlier this week, gossip magazine reported that rapper Nas and his singer wife Kelis were expecting their first child together. Now Us Weekly is reporting that newly engaged mogul Kimora Lee and her model/actor fiance Djimon Hounsou are expecting their first child together. Kimora already has two beautiful little girls with her ex-husband Russell Simmons, but this would be the first child for Hounsou. As of yet, there has been no official comment, but if it's true then we here at Yougottea would like to congratulate the happy couple and wish them a happy and safe pregnancy.

Letters To The First Daughters

With everyone going Inauguration crazy (No, I am not coming home), Parade magazine asked the President-Elect and full time family man to write a letter to his beloved daughters Sasha and Malia. What follows belows are excerpts that I found truly awe inspiring and showed our 44th President's true nature as a real man, husband, and father.

Dear Malia and Sasha,

I know that you've both had a lot of fun these last two years on the campaign trail, going to picnics and parades and state fairs, eating all sorts of junk food your mother and I probably shouldn't have let you have. But I also know that it hasn't always been easy for you and Mom, and that as excited as you both are about that new puppy, it doesn't make up for all the time we've been apart. I know how much I've missed these past two years, and today I want to tell you a little more about why I decided to take our family on this journey.

When I was a young man, I thought life was all about me-about how I'd make my way in the world, become successful, and get the things I want. But then the two of you came into my world with all your curiosity and mischief and those smiles that never fail to fill my heart and light up my day. And suddenly, all my big plans for myself didn't seem so important anymore. I soon found that the greatest joy in my life was the joy I saw in yours. And I realized that my own life wouldn't count for much unless I was able to ensure that you had every opportunity for happiness and fulfillment in yours. In the end, girls, that's why I ran for President: because of what I want for you and for every child in this nation.

I want all our children to go to schools worthy of their potential-schools that challenge them, inspire them, and instill in them a sense of wonder about the world around them. I want them to have the chance to go to college-even if their parents aren't rich. And I want them to get good jobs: jobs that pay well and give them benefits like health care, jobs that let them spend time with their own kids and retire with dignity.

hope both of you will take up that work, righting the wrongs that you see and working to give others the chances you've had. Not just because you have an obligation to give something back to this country that has given our family so much-although you do have that obligation. But because you have an obligation to yourself. Because it is only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you will realize your true potential.

These are the things I want for you-to grow up in a world with no limits on your dreams and no achievements beyond your reach, and to grow into compassionate, committed women who will help build that world. And I want every child to have the same chances to learn and dream and grow and thrive that you girls have. That's why I've taken our family on this great adventure.

It's That Time Again

Anybody close to The Intellect and I can tell you we live for America's Next Best Dance Crew. It's nothing like seeing eight, competitive dance troupes go head to head for the title of America's Next Best Dance Crew. I never thought when the show started that I'd be a big a fan as I am. I'm excited to see the first episode and put my bid in for who I think will win the title as champions at the end. There is a blip to tonight's episode. JC Chasez, ex member of N'sync won't be there to judge tonight. In his place will be JabbaWockeeZ’ Rainen Paguio. Now, I'm a bit confused. On MTV's blog they said he wasn't able to make the premiere episode. Now how do you not make the premiere episode for a show that's bringing your career some life? Hmmmm. I'm confused, I get the feeling maybe someone wanted more money and it wasn't happening. Either way, tune in tonight at 10pm for the premiere of America's Next Best Dance Crew.

The theme for this year's Grammy awards is: "Celebrate the music that makes you." They pulled token, pretty girl Rihanna for one of the posters with her artwork including a large amount of Mariah Carey songs including:"Vision Of Love," "Butterfly," "Honey," "Emotions," "Can't Let Go," "We Belong Together," "Always Be My Baby" and "Dreamlover."

What I've got from the poster is cute. I'm just unsure how all these love songs could have played a part in Rihanna's earlier life. Maybe she was confused with the directions because if you wanted to compare songs to her modern day life, I'd have to pull T.I. "Freak Though," Lil Kim "Jump Off," and Chris Brown's "Take You Down."

I just wanted to feature three of my favorite contestants from ANTM; They would be Bre Scullark, Danielle Evans & Jaslene Gonzalez. These were three of the realest chicks from all the cycles of ANTM. Hmmmmm. What do we have here? I present to you the New Converse SHIN-HI All Star Boot; I don't know how to feel about this. It looks like a shoe but, then it has the detailing of a boot. It's quite interesting to say the least. I think it's for the true fashion connoisseur out there who'd rock it without any remorse. I could see the brown pair paired with a chocolate poncho, a pair of paper denim straight legs and a Marc Jacobs fur hat(Shoutout to my root Marcus Burton & the fur hat from SOHO that's OVAH). Some Food For Thought

Some people crave food, other's crave sex, I crave COLOR. Pale Blues, Vibrant Purples, Exuberant Yellows; I live for them all. With Valentino's 2006 S/S Collection, I got exactly what I wanted. Colors that stand out from a crowd but, not in an overbearing way. The thing with color is to never overdue it, remember that saying too much of anything isn't good. That goes with color also. Back to the topic at hand though; Valentino's S/S Collection. When I look at the pieces I've posted from the collection I think of a statement made by a profound colleague of mine, Eric Kincaid. We were discussing the new cologne by Sean Combs "I Am King," one night and he described it as "masculine but fruity." Now, when I look at these pieces by world renowed Valentino, the first thing that came to my mind was Masculine but, Fruity. I know the statement had nothing to do with fashion in the context we were speaking but, if you look at the line it does give you that teas. Profound right? Let it simmer on the brain for a minute.

Anywho, as I was looking through the various looks of Will from around the world and I must say I'm impressed. Now, Will has never been a slacker in the dress department but, lately he's really been on his dad swag. From very, fitted designer suits to leather bombers and scarfs; Will's been on his fashion, forwad swag hard. Not only does he hold the titles as best actor, best dad and best husband. I Guess She Was Too Real

Every body's favorite Georgia Housewives are gearing up for the next season of their mega popular show. However, it has just been revealed (via Essence.com) that DeShawn Snow will not be apart of the next season. Snow who was known as the quite and less coonish one of the series spoke to Essence about how all the drama went down:

ESSENCE.COM: We hear that you are no longer returning to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Is that true?
DESHAWN SHOW: Yes, one of the producers called me yesterday and said that they wouldn't take my option.

ESSENCE.COM: What reason did they give for not inviting you back for the second season?
SNOW: [One of the producers] called and said that I was "too human for a circus show" and that because the show did so well, they are about to pump up the drama and they didn't think that I would fit in. He gave me an example, saying that during the reunion when I found out what a few of the other ladies said about me, they were expecting me to say more, but I'm not the type to go "television" and start acting crazy because somebody's talking about me. I'm fine with the decision. It wasn't my decision. They let me go and there are no hard feelings. I am thankful for the opportunity.

ESSENCE.COM: So were you at all shocked by the decision?
SNOW: I didn't see it coming. I was shocked because I just talked to them in December about the new season. It's not like they came to me and gave me an option by saying, "We're going to take a new direction and we want to know if you could be more like this." I was a little hurt, but I just look at it like I am what I am. [My personality] didn't seem to be a problem before, but I suppose the show took a different direction and they no longer see me as the right fit. If you look at all the other housewives, they are all different. I believe God moves people out of your way. It's about God having his hand upon you and doing things for you. I'm not judging my situation. I look at the show as just a shutter-glimpse of what God has in store for me. I enjoyed being on the show and hanging with the girls. At the end of the day, I was the same person throughout the show. I never changed. I was authentic and true to myself and I can't control what other people do.

ESSENCE.COM: There are rumors that Tameka Foster might replace you. Is that true?
SNOW: Yes, I heard that, but I don't know. I wouldn't say that they are replacing me because they didn't think I was real enough or too real enough for the show, so I doubt they are going to bring in someone who has a similar personality as mine.

ESSENCE.COM: We love that you are keeping it moving. Any parting words to your fans?
SNOW: I'm thankful for my fans that've sent me a lot of e-mails saying that I inspire and encourage them. I'm also a monthly columnist for Streamingthefaith.com. Again, I just want to stress that there are no hard feelings about me not returning to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Please join my Web site and know that you haven't seen the last of me. I wish the girls much success. Our show had the highest ratings, and I can always say I was a part of its success.


Honestly, I am glad DeShawn will not be back next season. In my opinion, she was the only one with any real money to her name and she also had the most class out of all the housewives. Don't get me wrong, I love me some NeNe, but at the end of the day DeShawn knew when to let the coons have their moment while she went back to her paid off mansion. But let's pause for a moment. Did they really just say that Tameka Forster (Usher's man/wife) is in talks to be the new housewife? Now you know Usher and his MOMager are not going for that. But none the less I look forward to the coonery of the second season of the Atlanta Housewives and to meet the new housewife. Who else hopes that they just make DeWhite an official housewife?

She's Making A Statement

I was awakened with a call from My Resident Record Spinner who's currently on a hiatus due to graduation being near, telling me of the new Christina Milian video. Now I'm no big fan of Chrissy, so I wasn't excited to see the video. But, after viewing I must speak otherwise. Her new single titled "Us Against The World," showcases the vocal ability some thought Christina lacked. Since this is the first release since Christina signed to Myspace records, she probably said to herself; "I have to get my career back," I'm not mad though, at the end of the day who wants to be fishing for coins when your pretty and have talent. Milian's fourth album, Dream In Color is set to hit stores in April.

I'm Starting To Say Lauren Who?

Lauren Conrad better known as LC to the Youth of America has released her new 2009 Resort Collection and I'm not impressed to say the least. The pieces give me LC tease a `la Laguna Beach. Now I'm all about creating your own personal style which is what Lauren did. But, that's what this collection is all in itself; a showcase of Lauren. If it's nothing that irks me more, it's when people take the craft out of fashion design. In order to be successful in fashion you must have a fresh mind when it comes to creating clothes; you have to know your line is going to bring forth something fresh and new or a new take on a classic look. I'm not going to rag too hard, it is a step up from her first collection. I just expect more from Lauren, I'm starting to see why Whitney tipped to The City. The dutchess herself, Fergie wed long time boyfriend, Josh Duhmal in Malibu this past Saturday with in front of a small crowd of close friends and family. There hasn't been many details released as far as what Fergie wore or anything of that sort but, I know she was done regardless. I'm excited for Fergie and her new hubby. The ring he put across that finger shows that he wasn't slacking too hard. From the shine of that bad boy, she must have did something to make him put a ring on it, literally.

It's So Hard To Say Goodbye

Bridget Marquardt pictured here with Hugh Hefner is the last girl next door to pack her stuff and say goodbye to life at the playboy mansion. After Holly and Kendra's departure in October, Bridget has decided to leave to pursue new goals and aspirations. I'm excited for the new ventures of Kendra, Holly and Bridget. The show was good while it lasted but, it's better to end something on a high note then to go out with it crashing and burning. I just hope the girls don't fly the coop and end up running back because the real world wasn't what the playboy mansion was.

The Obama's have been searching high and low and have narrowed their choices down to two; Labradoodle or Portuguese water hound. These two breeds were at the top of the list as Malia, 10 suffers from an allergy to dogs. The Obama's now say their next mission in the dog hunting project is searching the local shelters for the best dog to bring home to the white house.

There has been a recent buzz on the depature of Jermaine Dupri from Def Jam, where he served as the president of the urban music market. He spoke to Essence magazine and discussed his early departure from what has been considered one of the founding labels of Hip Hop.

ESSENCE.COM: The blogosphere has been abuzz recently about your exit from Island Def jam Records as president of urban music. Why did you leave the label?
JERMAINE DUPRI: It was a situation where it felt very stagnant to me. As a person who is used to putting out new records and continuing to do that, it just wasn't turning over as being that place to me where I should stick to it and see if it was going to turn around.

ESSENCE.COM: What would you say was your biggest problem with the label?
DUPRI: It wasn't giving me the open door that I thought it was going to. It wasn't aggressive enough and it was a big letdown for me. I thought I was going to a place that understood the times we were in as a music business and how aggressive we needed to be with putting out new projects and records. This is the reason I'm speaking out; not because I'm bitter, but because I owe it to my fans that see me every day on the Internet. I wanted to let them know because they've left a lot of comments on my YouTube saying, "JD, you talk about everything else; why aren't you talking about this [label] situation?"

ESSENCE.COM: There's hearsay that your brief tenure was plagued by meager sales and a lack of new talent which resulted in the label ousting you. Is that true?
DUPRI: Island [Def Jam Records] is going to say what makes them look good. They are not going to tell the truth and say, "He just stopped dealing with us on a daily basis." If you don't put out my records, that's all I have as a person. I'm a record person, so if I give you a record and you don't put it out, then basically you're showing me that it's really no business. I never got a chance to put the records out. I had Johnta Austin, Ninth Ward and Dondria. I read the blogs and I'm thinking, How can they say that I'm not putting out records when anyone who knows my track record knows I'm about making music? My biggest problem is that I'm still the youngest president to have this kind of success. Music is my life. I'm a person who continues to carve out my own way. Instead of watching things happen, I make them happen. If L.A. [Reid] gets fired at Def Jam (he's 20 years older than me) where is he going to go? Many of the people at the label; if their bosses were to fire them today, they don't have anything else to do. Their lives are over. I'm not that dude. Life ain't over for me.

I'm feeling some type of way about Alycia, Angela and Vanessa's friend on their new show, Daddy's Girls. A California native, Alycia was Angela and Vanessa's only West Coast friend before the two decided to make the big move from the NY. Alycia's from a middle class family and dreams of eventually having a music career. I hope that Alycia isn't trying to ink a deal on the benefit of being friends with Angela and Vanessa. But, look how many other stars have did that. Whitney from The City, Heidi and Spencer from the Hills and even The Simmons daughters with their show Daddy's Girls. I look forward to seeing how Alycia evolves as the show continues to progress throughout the season. Maybe at the end she'll have her own show that follows her seeking a record deal.

R&B singer Jill Scott just revealed that she will be expecting her first child this April. In a press conference promoting her new show for HBO entitled, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, Scott talked about finding out she was pregnant during her time filming the show

"The first trimester I spent in Botswana. That was one of the biggest challenges of my life. First trimester! You're sick every morning. It was seven hours time difference, the heat, the bugs, the 14 hour days."

Well if your a fan of Jill like I am, then you will remember that Ms. Scott recently finalized a divorce, got engaged to one of her drummers, and now she is expecting her first child; all in all it seems Jill will have a great 2009.

The wholegay thing. For goodness sake it’s been 4 years!!!! Y’all still on that huh? The whole “boys” song, and the song “go over there”. See this is what happens when people steal. These songs were clearly written for women. Had you been patient, you would have heard them the way they were supposed to be heard, with the voice of the intended artist on em’. But noooo, someone gets a hold of these demos and suddenly everybody forgets that I write songs for women. Riiight.

I tell People Magazine that Young Jeezy’s crib is right next to mine and that once I saw him in there from across the way. I then make a JOKE about him maybe not wanting to walk around naked in his crib with the shades up cause the buildings are THAT close to each other, and that AIN’T something I care to see. Suddenly, everybody thinks I said I saw Young Jeezy in his crib naked when, NEVER ONCE did I say anything like that.

I mean come on people. Who Knew?!?!

So I have no shame in admitting that I am a fan of High School Musical. I think the movie is corny but very entertaining, and I always like my girl Sharpay (Ashlye Tisdale) and of course Troy (Zac Efron). But as a fan of the movie I hated Corbin Bleu's character Chad. He always seemed like the token black guy, with that ugly curly afro(seriously, how many black men do you see with a curly fro) and I never liked his singing or acting. But now that the show is over and Corbin is collecting those Disney coins, he is starting to look a whole lot better. Gone are the played out too tight graphic tees and light denims, now Corbin is giving us grown man with his light stubble and suits on the red carpet. I think, dare I say it, that Mr. Corbin Bleu is about to get his cornball card revoked. Get into these before and after pics of him below and you be the judge.

The spring collection from OnFront was inspired by the 1920's Jazz Era, it includes blazers, alot of brown tones and just the entire ora of the jazz era. I like alot of these pieces; they show the boundaries the black men of the 1920's were breaking along with their passion for fashion. The one downside to this line is that it kind of gives me Benjamin Bixaby by Andre 3000 tease. But, I'd go up for both lines nonetheless.

It's great to see Black Hollywood coming out to support a movie that shows a positive outlook on the life of the late Christopher Wallace better known to many as B.I.G or Biggie Smalls. Resolutions For Life

So this week I have been getting into Oprah's Best Life Week, and honestly these shows have been on point. In fact, I have been inspired by Mother O so much that I have decided to actually come up with resolutions that will not just be goals for one year, but goals for the rest of my life. Also, in an act of motivating myself to succeed I am going to share my progress (be it triumphs or setbacks) with everyone at yougottea.com. First and foremost, here are my Resolutions for Life:

1. Balance My Budget
If you know me then you know that I am not the best when it comes to managing my money. Don't get it twisted, your girl is not some broke stunt queen over-drawing her account to make ends meet; nope that has never been me, instead I tend to live paycheck to paycheck. Because of this my savings and checking account are a little lacking. In wanting to take control of my finances and prepare myself for entering the world outside of college (only one year left), I have devised a plan.

**Step 1** Limit my eating out habits by actually buying groceries.
**Step 2** Cut back on miscellaneous spending (i.e retail therapy shopping trips).
**Step 3** Invest in savings accounts that will actually earn me money back. I am currently looking into opening an IDA account (for more info on IDA accounts go to http://www.cfed.org/ida/directory/).

2. Balance My Weight
I am calling an intervention on myself. Now I have never been nor wanted to be a thin chick, but I do realize that my waist line is getting out of hand. Also, after having a real health scare in my immediate family and another family member being a diabetic I know that now is the time to get healthy. Therefore I have decided:

**Step 1** Meet with a professional to determine what course of action I should take in being a healthier me without losing myself to crazy diets.
**Step 2** Get a workout plan that really works for me and I can stick to.
**Step 3** Stay motivated to keep going. So many times we say we are going to workout and lose the weight but we never do. So I have made it my mission to let my friends and family know what I am doing so they can motivate and encourage me when I need it.

3. Balance My Goals
As I am entering into my final year of college, I will be faced with all new challenges and obstacles to conquer. Moreover, I am realizing for the first time just how vast the "real world" can be and just how scary it truly can be. With that in mind I have decided to achieve all the goals that I have set for myself and not limit myself to achieving these goals within a strict time limit. Also, I have made a vow to:

**Step 1** Be more spontaneous and less serious. Sometimes you just gotta Pay It!!
**Step 2** Open myself up to others who can help me along my path, while letting go of the ones who no longer can.
**Step 3** Rediscover My Purpose and Execute that Purpose To The Best of My Ability.

Mrs. Carta strikes again; this time with her new 2009 Loreal Ad Campaign. I like the picture; pure, simple and elegant. I also live for the quote at the bottom of the ad that says:"This makeup is so true to my own skin, it actually mimics it." When Bey promotes a product, she does it with a 110%. With that said, I hope this new ad isn't going to bring up the whole skin lightener situation again. People, it's called airbrushing. It's done all the time on an array of celebrities. How do you think their mugs sit so hard in so many pictures? Chemical peels only work but so much. Avid Beyonce fans let me know how you feel via the comments section below. Obama's New Ride

You know your FAB when GM sends you a new Limo to stunt in during the inaugural parade. The limo named, The 2009 Presidential Limousine replaces Bush's 2006 model and includes varies amenities such as larger windows and better visibility for the president, but still has a majority of the same specs from the 06 model. GM was hush-hush about the price but, have said it cost fewer than $25,000. I'm excited to see our new president shine as he rides in his new limo down Pennsylvania Ave on January 20th. After all that we as African Americans have been through, it's time we got our buried treasure. If it has to begin with Barack and the new limo, so be it.

He Put A Ring On It, This Time!

When I saw these rings by Melanie Lynn I instantly thought about Stanley Tucci, better known to many as Nigel, the quiet yet suave sidekick to Miranda in the Devil Wears Prada. Always adorned in a designer suit or immaculate sweater, Nigel was the tea in The Devil Wears Prada. Before seeing him in the movie I was never a big fan of rings on men, unless wedding bands. But, by seeing the way Stanley Tucci rocked the bohemian styled rings with his designer suits I saw a glimpse of hope for jewelry for myself in 09. I told you men, it's about coloring outside those lines in 2009.

I'm Equipped With Double G's

Gucci is among the top of my list for ads I go up for but, why do they always do the same look with their models? With the amount of coins they've brought in over the years they should have the leverage to let the creative juices flow. I know sometimes you want to stick with the basics but, in order to take Gucci to another level you must step outside the box. I've been telling everyone to color outside those damn lines. Maybe some diversity in models, maybe some new angles, hell maybe even a different back drop or scenery. Don't call it a read. I'm still stacking my coins to get to their level!

Skating In Style

I can't/never will be able to/plan on trying to learn to skateboard but, I'm infatuated with the new Louis Vuitton/Stephen Sprouse skateboard hitting Louis Vuitton's SOHO outpost on Thursday. This skateboard allows the underground, indie type skateboarder to push the boundaries. He won' be labeled only as the skateboarder now but, the skateboarder with a louis vuitton board. I know Pharrell has put in his bid. Fuck that; Stephen Sprouse probably hand signed one for him. Hell, with Pharrell on his board that's a walking/riding advertisement off gate.

Daddy Barack helped the girls get ready for their first day of school, sharing words of encouragement and motivation for their first day at Sidwell. After all that the girls have been through with the campaign, school is probably going to be their safe haven. St. Barts was the place to be this year. The A-list roster included The Carters, The Cannons, The Reids and Avid kilt wearer Marc Jacobs. Instead of partying packed boots style in Times Square, these stars boarded their top-flight jets and pumped to St. Barts. Just imagine; cocktails, conversation and cunts (Hence, the androgynous person in the bikini top near Marc Jacobs, No Shade though!)Nonetheless, I know they brought in 2009 the right way, Fuck living, I die!

Now, I'm off to see why my agent didn't tell me Jay called about the St. Barts trip.

Kimmy Says They Did Her No Justice

Lil Kim's upset over her portrayal in the new Notorious Movie, get into this tidbit from a interview she did with Hip Hop Weekly:

“I’ve had enough and I’m about to expose them both… I’ve been quiet for a long time,” Lil Kim told Hip-Hop Weekly. “I’m very disappointed in Faith. There’s nothing Faith or Ms. Wallace could do to stop me from reppin’ B.I.G. all day. I’m gonna always do that… It’s time for Ms. Wallace to be exposed.”

I'm an avid Lil' Kim fan and I look forward to seeing how she's portrayed in the movie, I just hope she doesn't do anything drastic to Faith or Mrs. Wallace. Hell it hasn't been that long since she got out of jail, Jail time part dos isn't a good look.

New Years Day Brunch
